‘The Tree on the Hill’

The Milky Way arches across the northern fells of the Lake District and over the Solway Firth.  To the right, Scorpius, Bassenthwaite & Skiddaw.  Above this and moving left you have the gas clouds at the heart of our galaxy with Sagittarius, Delphinus, Aquila, Ophiuchus with Cygnus above the tree.  To the left you can see Cassiopeia, Perseus, Triangulum & the Double Cluster, a touch of beautiful purple/blue aurora and our sister galaxy Andromeda, 2.537 million light years away.
