Durdle Core

The famous Durdle Door late one night near the shortest day.  The Galactic Core, Mars, Saturn and a sky full of stars with a shooting star across the core.

The first night I have visited this amazing place.  I’d been in Cornwall and took the opportunity to call in at Durdle Door on the way home.  All the stats aligned, and weather, moon and Galactic Core were set to be in the perfect position for a  shot.  This is a 12-shot panorama showing the Core over the English Channel.  Over the face I got a very luck shooting star and the constellations of Libra, Scorpius and Sagittarius can clearly be seen along with Mars (left) and Saturn (over the core).  Within the Core, 26000 light years away lies Sagittarius A*, a super massive black hole and the very centre of our Milky Way Galaxy.  A beautiful night on the beach, just me and my dog Floyd and this amazing view.  What a night.
