Description
Castle Stalker with the constellation or Orion setting below the horizon and the distant glow of lights providing backlighting for the scene. Some beautiful reflections of the stars with the low tide. Such a gorgeous location and a real experience to be there at night under a sky full of stars
It was my first trip after eye surgery and it did not disapoint. I slept in my little car with 2 dogs in Glencoe and we explored all day and night capturing some beautiful photograph. The universe was very kind and I had a weekend of aurora, zodiacal light, inversions and stars. Here a quick stop at Castle Stalker to capture Orion as the aurora started to build, then I headed back into Glencoe for an amazing night of photography. I loved it!
Orion is one of the most familiar and spectacular of the winter constellations. At this time of year (March) Orion starts to disapear below the horizon until next winter, only to be replaced with the opportunity to capture the galactic core of our own Milky Way galaxy
All pretty mind blowing stuff!
