‘Into the Mist’

The view from Loughrigg as an inversion starts to dissipate.  Woods near Elterwater start to show, silhouetted in the mist.  To my right the first golden rays of sun hit the Langdale Valley and the iconic Langdale Pikes.

Loughrigg, a small but beautiful hill in the central Lake District is one of my favourite places.  I spent a year living at the base with my dogs and exploring the lakes and valleys all around.   I grew to love Loughrigg and often walk it either to watch the stars above the beautiful Lake District and then watch the sun rise behind the Fairfield Horseshoe and cast its golden light over the beautiful Langdale Valleys and mountains beyond or as a quick hike when time is tight but a sunrise needed
