Description

Nestled in the mountains of Langdale lies Blea Tarn.  A beautiful place to visit and in my opinion, one of the finest view in the whole Lake District.  At night, it’s a beautifully dark place with gorgeous reflections and silhouettes.  Perfect for some Astro/landscape photography

In this photograph you can see Blea Tarn and the Langdale Pikes of Pike O’Stickle, Pavey Ark, Harrison Stickle amongst others with the Winter Milky Way arching across the January skies.  Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters & said to the the daughters of the Titan Atlas and the sea nymph Pleione lies over Rakerigg & Bleaberry Knott.  To the right of this, very faint, you can see the Triangulum Galaxy, 2.73 million light years away and containing around 40 Billion stars.  To the right of this, our sister galaxy Andromeda can be seen clearly above left of Pike O’Stickle.  Andromeda is the most distant object visible to the naked eye, contains a Trillion stars and lies 2.537 million light years away.  Above these Cassiopeia (the Mother of Andromeda), the Double Cluster, Triangulum & Perseus.  Just above Harrison Stickle, Pavey Ark & Side Pike you can see Cygnus (The Swan) and the massive clouds of dust and gas deep in space.

This is a panorama made up of 20 separate photographs allowing me to blow it up big and show so much detail of both skies and landscape

Strictly limited and only available framed or acrylic
