Description
‘Castlerigg Milky Way’
Its official!!! Galactic Core season is upon us! This is my first view of the galactic core of our Milky Way galaxy this year and I had lots of fun! I wasn’t expecting a night of stars, especially with all of this rain and clouds we have been having. Well friday night, the clouds cleared, the moon set and I got a few hours playing stick with the dogs as I played with my camera.
Here you can see the 3-5,000 year old neolithic stone circle with a sky full of stars overhead. To the right just above the stones you can see Scorpius & to the left of this Sagittarius and the gas cloud at the heart of our galaxy where 26,000 light years away lies a supermassive black hole 4 million times the mass of our sun. Pretty mind blowing really
