My award winning shot. Floyd and myself atop a little hill silhouetted against a star filled sky. Mars, Saturn, Altaire, Vega & Deneb alongside the Galactic Core of our Milky Way Galaxy.

My award-winning image from Astro Photographer of the Year 2019. This single 10 second exposure shows me and one of my dogs, Floyd with Mars to the left and Saturn to the right. Also, on the right you can the Galactic Core of our Milky Way Galaxy, the gas cloud at the very centre where 26,000 light years away lies the Super Massive Black Hole Sagittarius A*. Either side of this you can see Libra, Scorpius and over the core the constellation of Sagittarius. In the sky the Summer Triangle of Altaire, Deneb and Vega is also visible. One of my favourite shots and one that has been on show in the National Maritime Museum Greenwich, published in the Astro Photographer of the Year book and toured around the country with the exhibition. Also, has recently been on sale in the Maritime Museum

Mr. Bush, this is an unforgettable photograph. There is a tragic under-representation of dogs in astronomy photography and you may be the first to breach that barrier. Thank you so much, I love your work!

I saw this at the astrophotography exhibition in Greenwich and cried immediately! The juxtaposition of the universe and how – to a dog-like Floyd – WE are their universe was beautiful. I will purchase a print to hang on my wall as soon as I can! Thank you, Ben. Your story was also very relatable and really touched me.
