Description
The constellation of Orion (The Hunter) high in the sky above beautiful Buttermere, Fleetwith Pike, Haystacks & Honister. I love this place and this a trip here in the snow was well needed and appreciated. There is something very special about this place. Its never a bad idea to come to Buttermere, night or day, rain or shine.
I spend a lot of time looking up at the skies and watching the constellations change through the season. Orion to me marks Winter and what I think is my favourite time of the year. There’s something really special about heading out for a few hours with my collies in tow and to visit all these places I love and to spend some time outside experimenting with my camera. Orion is always a welcome sight to me and means dark nights, walks with my cameras and time with my telescope in the garden when home.
Orion also means sights such as the Horsehead & Flame Nebulae and the brightest nebula in the sky, the Orion Nebula. You can clearly see the red of the Nebula also know as Messier 42 in the second star down on Orion’s sword
The Horsehead & Flame Nebulae in Orion
Orion looked particularly beautiful above Buttermere this time I thought…..
